Our 2024 flower season closes ...

Each year on the flower farm is different from the last and 2024 was especially so, with a wet, cold, late spring delaying the start of our season. Then, as the buds appeared, I stepped back from social media and personal floristry due to commitments away from the farm.

Yet the fabulous Owl Garden continued to bloom spectacularly, and we supplied many buckets of gorgeous wedding, memorial and event flowers to superb local florists Claire, Fig and Fern, and Lisa, Seacroft Flowers.

Whatever else next year brings, the Owl Garden will be full of flowers from spring onwards. So, a big thank you to our loyal customers, and I look forward to seeing you all in 2025, with best wishes, Elaine.

Seasonality and variety

Owl Garden flowers are grown on our smallholding between the Lincolnshire Wolds and the sea. We farm our flowers on a small scale using wildlife-friendly, sustainable methods.

At Owl Garden we grow small quantities of a wide range of flower and foliage varieties providing a changing palette of colour and form throughout the year. To create added interest and texture we use flowers and foliage at all stages of development: buds, mature blooms and seedheads. We also forage seasonal materials from our boundary native hedgerows.

For each order the best blooms are freshly hand-picked and combined to create beautiful, colourful and harmonious bouquets and arrangements that are celebrations of the changing seasons.

We also grow a range of willow varieties, suitable for basketry, living willow sculpture and windbreaks.

Sustainable, bee and wildlife-friendly flower growing

Owl Garden flowers are cultivated using only organic fertiliser and are free from pesticides and herbicides.

Because our flowers are grown and delivered locally they are not refrigerated or chemically treated (unlike many imports sold in supermarkets). This means that they retain their natural fragrance and will continue to grow in the vase. Our flowers' journey from field to vase typically takes 24 hours, maximum.

For packaging, we use biodegradable Kraft paper and tissue, cardboard presentation boxes, and raffia ties.

In floral arrangements, we use willow, moss, twine and tape (never floral foam, which takes up to 100 years to break down in landfill).

We recycle wherever possible. Plastic pots and seedling trays are washed and reused.
